‘The date of introduction of the euro’ in the Republic of Bulgaria is the date set out in the Decision of the Council of the European Union on the adoption by the Republic of Bulgaria of the euro, adopted in accordance with Article 140(2) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, hereinafter referred to as the ‘Decision on the adoption of the euro’ and the Council Regulation of the With effect from that date, the euro shall become the official national currency and legal tender of the Republic of Bulgaria.
In this regard, in order to facilitate the users (consumers) of insurance services and to make the transition to the new currency easy, clear and understandable for them, we hereby provide information on the rules that insurers will follow when changing monetary values from levs to euros, as set out in all documents they provide to consumers.
